Impossible is the word before Step 1.
Once Step 1 shows up, impossible becomes hard. And hard you can work with.
The life I have now would have sounded like a fantasy to my younger self in Eastern Hungary in the 90s. Living in Switzerland. A business of my own. Clients I respect. Back then none of that had a path. It had a wish. The wish got loud the day I wanted a new t-shirt and could only afford second hand.
I wanted to try a life in a different country. The one I had was hard for a young person with nothing to start with.
→ Step 1 was sending one email. A job application, to a company I knew in Switzerland.
Many years later I left a corporate career to build The Change Republic in a market where I was a newcomer. It was scary and seemed impossible. So I needed a Step 1.
→ That step was opening LinkedIn and writing my first post, to explore where my niche was.
Then came the moment I had to ask someone to actually pay me. I had to propose a number, out loud, to a person who trusted me with their challenge.
→ Step 1 was saying the price.
I have done enough things that once felt impossible. The big move people see from the outside is never what it felt like from the inside. It was never about courage. It was about seeing Step 1 clearly enough to take it.
If something feels impossible right now, you probably do not need more confidence. You just need to find Step 1.

When something feels impossible, the instinct is to wait for more confidence. But confidence is not what is missing. Clarity is. Impossible is what we call a goal when we cannot yet see the first concrete action.
The trick is to shrink the question until an action appears. Not the whole move to a new country, just one email. Not a whole business, just one post. Not a pricing strategy, just one number said out loud. Navigating a career transition works the same way: the leap is really a series of small, takeable steps.
Once Step 1 is taken, impossible quietly becomes hard, and hard is something you already know how to work with. The view from outside looks like a brave jump. From the inside it is almost always a sequence of small, clear moves.
