Hard work, yes - what else?

I recently had the opportunity to lead a workshop with close to 100 amazing Senior Managers at EY on leading with confidence through personal branding.

It took me back to my own struggles a few years back – that feeling of not having anything "unique" to offer, the worry about what others might think if I dared to stand out.

Like many of us, I was raised with the belief that hard work and keeping a low profile would lead to success.  

But early in my career, my department went through a major restructuring. Despite having strong results, I was just one of many.  And guess what? I was let go.

That was a tough wake-up call. It forced me to confront the reality that hard work alone wasn't enough. In the years to come, I needed to build a unique brand, to tell my story, and to define what I stood for.

It took some time, but I realized that the key is overcoming our fears. We all have them! 

But by focusing on what we want, instead of what we don't want, we can step into our authentic selves. 

We all have valuable stories to share – experiences that shape our ideas and make us who we are. Confidence comes from embracing those challenges and learning from them. And with the right storytelling structure, it's time to shine ⭐

A strong personal brand not only elevates you but also your team and your company. It's a powerful synergy where everyone benefits.
