Good work does not speak for itself. It never has.
The work is good. The hours are in. And still, the people who decide your next role cannot really picture what you do all day.
The usual advice is to network harder, post more, market yourself. For most senior people that turns visibility into a second job they do not want and will not keep.
There is a simpler shift. Make the value of your work legible to the few people who actually decide, without performing for everyone else.
Visibility without turning it into a second job
The fear behind invisible good work is usually not laziness about self-promotion. It is distaste for it. Capable people do not want to become their own marketing department, so they do nothing, and the work stays unseen.
The reframe that helps is narrowing the audience. You do not need to be visible to everyone. You need a handful of people, the ones who actually influence your next role, to clearly understand the value you create. This is one of the things executive coaching actually solves: helping you be accurately understood by the people who decide.
That is a far smaller, far more honest task than broadcasting. It looks like naming what you did plainly, connecting your work to what those people care about, and letting facts do the work that bragging never could.
