Building a Founder's Personal Brand Across Six Time Zones
8 lug 2026
We worked together for months. We had never been in the same room.
When Anat Goldstein first reached out to work on her personal brand and thought leadership with The Change Republic, she was still in New York. I was in Switzerland. Every call, six time zones apart.
She was preparing something big: moving her life and her startup from the US to Europe.
Now she is here. 🙌
This is our very first photo together. Under the unmistakable angle at the Zürich main station, finally in person.
Anat is the Founder & CEO of FinOptima Solutions, an AI-native startup building fraud intelligence for financial institutions. Her team helps banks defend against deepfake voices, synthetic identities, and other AI-driven fraud.
She didn’t move to Europe by accident. She chose to build her company here.
If you’re working in fintech, AI, fraud prevention, or banking, I think she’s someone you should know.
Who in my network should I introduce her to?
Why founders build their brand during the messy middle
Most people wait for the calm chapter to work on their visibility. The calm chapter does not come. The founders and senior leaders I work with build their brand exactly when everything is in motion, because that is when the story is being written.
Distance was never the obstacle. Personal brand and thought leadership work is thinking work. What do you stand for. What do you want to be known for. Which rooms should know your name before you walk in. In my B-R-A-N-D framework, that groundwork comes before any post, talk, or interview. None of it needs two people in one room. It needs honest questions, a regular rhythm, and someone who holds you to your own standard.
There is a second lesson in the move itself. A relocation, a market change, a new chapter is not a pause in your professional story. It is the story. Sharing the journey while it happens builds more trust than announcing a polished result ever will.
Founders carry these transitions mostly alone, which is exactly why a thinking partner changes the pace. I wrote more about that in the loneliness of leadership.
