What happens to our judgment when AI can answer almost everything?
I spoke recently at the IMD Alumni Club Austria and CEE on AI and leadership.
I did not focus on what AI can do for us. I asked a harder question: what happens to our judgment, our critical thinking, and our decisions when AI can answer almost everything?
It is the question I keep returning to. The more capable the tool, the more deliberately we have to protect the thinking it could quietly replace.

Protecting judgment in the age of easy answers
There is a quiet risk in tools that are this good. When an answer is always one prompt away, the muscle that used to produce it, our own thinking, gets used less. And like any muscle, it weakens when it is not used.
This is not an argument against AI. It is an argument for using it on purpose. What changes when you build your own AI perspective is that you decide where the tool does the work and where you keep doing it yourself, precisely to stay sharp.
The leaders who will navigate this well are the ones who still form their own view first, then use AI to test and stretch it, rather than letting it think for them. Judgment is not automatic. In this era it has to be defended.
