Non è un problema.
Happy 734th birthday Switzerland. 18 years since I told myself I aws "just visiting."
In 2007, I made what I thought was a temporary move to Switzerland. "Just a few years," I told myself. "Then I'll go back home."
Funny how the biggest changes start with small decisions.
That "temporary" move became the foundation for everything I am today. My career, my family, my entire life shifted because I stayed open instead of sticking to my original plan.
Here's what I learned:
↳ Real change happens when you stop fighting it. I spent my first year trying to rebuild my old life in a new place. But I only started feeling home, when I got to learn the Swiss ways of working and thinking.
↳ You need to feel uncomfortable to grow. Switzerland didn't just welcome my skills - it pushed me to develop new ones. Being the outsider helps you spot opportunities you might otherwise miss.
↳ The best decisions often look small at first. What started as a career move became a life change. Sometimes you need to take the first step before you can see the bigger picture.
Today, it's the birthday of my chosen home. Switzerland celebrates 734 years of choosing collaboration over isolation. I had the same experience in my 18 years here: growth happens when we leave our comfort zones.
Happy birthday to my beautiful country! How do you celebrate?
