What vibe coding actually changes for a small business

The $140 saved is the least interesting number in this story. The interesting part is what happened before the switch: for two years we rented a platform built for thousands of different businesses, and used maybe a third of what we paid for. Vibe coding did not just cut the bill, it removed the mismatch between what a generic tool offers and what one specific business actually needs.

I see the same pattern with clients running lean teams or solo practices. They keep paying for software built for a company ten times their size, because that used to be the only option. It rarely is anymore, once you learn to build your own perspective on what AI is actually for.

A practical way to test this in your own business:

→ List every tool you pay monthly for and write one sentence on what it actually does for you

→ Pick the one where that sentence is short and simple

→ Describe it to an AI tool exactly the way you would brief a new hire, and see how close it gets in an afternoon

You will not replace everything this way. But most businesses are paying full platform price for a feature they could describe in a paragraph.
