What Passing 2,000 Followers on LinkedIn Taught Me

Wait, what? 😱 The Change Republic LinkedIn page just passed 2,000 followers.
Wait, what? 😱 The Change Republic LinkedIn page just passed 2,000 followers.
And it happened so fast.
Every follow, every comment and every share carried these posts to people we would never have reached on our own.
Thank you for reading. For pushing back. For sending a post to the colleague who needed it that day.
There is a lot more coming.

Thank youuuuu! 🙏
What actually got us to 2,000, three years of posting honestly
I did not expect to write this post. The number crept up while I was focused on the next piece of content, not on the follower count. Looking back at what actually worked, it was never the posts I was most proud of writing.
The posts that travelled were the ones where I said something slightly uncomfortable: admitting I do not have a neat answer, naming a mistake, disagreeing with advice everyone else was repeating. The polished, safe posts almost never got shared. The honest ones did, because someone recognised themselves in it and sent it to a colleague.
Three patterns from three years of this, for anyone building their own presence:
→ A post that admits uncertainty travels further than one that claims to have solved something.
→ Comments that disagree with you are worth more than comments that agree, both for reach and for what you learn.
→ Consistency beats intensity. Two honest posts a week outperformed any single post I tried to make go viral.
None of this came from a LinkedIn growth course. It came from writing the same way I would talk to a client, in public, for three years straight.
