I'm starting to say "not yet" more often—here's what I'm learning.

Because it helps your brain do something incredible.

This week, I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to speak at the EY Professional Women's Network event at their Zurich office. Wow, the energy in the room was 💥! We had close to 80 wonderful women and men gathered, to spend a few hours reflecting on change and connecting with one another.

After my talk, many people shared that the single best strategy they've found for navigating change is embracing a growth mindset. 

They spoke about that feeling of hitting a wall, thinking "I just can't do this." It's like your brain just... stops. Research actually shows less activity when we're stuck in that "fixed" mindset. 

And if your brain isn't working to find a way forward, who is?

But here's the amazing shift: simply changing "I can't" to "not yet." It's a small phrase, but its power is immense. Suddenly, your brain sparks to life! Literally. Neurons working. Just as Carol Dweck beautifully explains in her TEDx talk.
