AI Cannot Take Responsibility. Here Is What Still Can.

AI cannot take responsibility.
AI cannot take responsibility.
Our founder Tünde Lukacs said it on the TEDx stage last year. This autumn we take it further: Give away the work. Never the judgment.
Newsletter 044 is about exactly that line.
Inside:
1. Leadership when AI does the work (a World Economic Forum piece, which could not be more timely)
2. Find your line with AI (Ask, Delegate, Run)
3. The autumn keynote series (first stop: the Criteo Travel Summit in Barcelona)
Plus a copy-paste prompt that maps your own work: what stays fully human, what AI can take over, and what you do together.
A new edition every two weeks.
What would you never hand over?
Want to think through where your own line sits? My work on AI and leadership is here.
Ask, Delegate, Run: a simple way to sort your own work
The framework behind this newsletter edition is a simple sort, not a complicated model. For any task on your list, put it in one of three buckets.
→ Ask: you want AI's input, but you make the call. The analysis, the first draft of a hard email, a second opinion on a decision.
→ Delegate: AI does the task and tells you what it did. Scheduling, summarising, formatting, first-pass research.
→ Run: AI runs end to end, and you only check the outcome, not the process. Routine, low-stakes, repeatable work.
Most leaders I coach put almost everything in "Run" because it feels efficient, and then they are surprised when something slips that they never actually reviewed. The sort only works if you are honest about which bucket a task belongs in, not which bucket is fastest.
This is the same idea the World Economic Forum piece makes about AI-era leadership: responsibility does not move with the task. If you hand over the work, the outcome is still yours to answer for. That is the part a lot of "let AI do it" advice leaves out.
If you want to work through your own Ask, Delegate, Run sort, I have a free What AI Can't Hear Pack, built from the TEDx talk, with seven listening behaviours and ten questions you can use with your own team. Leave your email here and I will send it over: https://www.thechangerepublic.com/free-resources
